Rockford Harvest Fest
The fiftieth annual, 25 to 27 September 2026, downtown and in Memorial Park. Free.
Harvest Fest is the weekend Rockford closes the street. It has run for forty-nine years and the fiftieth lands on Friday 25 through Sunday 27 September 2026, put on by the Rockford Chamber of Commerce across downtown and Memorial Park. There is no admission charge.
What is on the 2026 bill: the classic car show downtown, a chili cook-off, the Lions Club beer tent, a Bloody Mary bar, make-and-take scarecrows in Memorial Park, an inflatable corn maze, a Family Fun Zone, a craft show, and booths from local non-profits. Recent years have also brought Rotary barbecue chicken dinners starting Friday late morning, antique tractors, and free hayrides, though the Chamber publishes the full activity list closer to the date rather than in advance.
The layout is worth knowing before you arrive. Downtown carries the car show and the vendors along Main and the side streets, and Memorial Park, northeast of the centre along Rum Creek, takes the scarecrows, the corn maze, and the family activities. The Community Cabin in the park has restrooms. The two are a short walk apart, which is the whole appeal of a festival in a town this size: you park once.
If you are coming from Grand Rapids, it is US-131 to exit 97 and then east, about twenty-five minutes, and the downtown lots fill from mid-morning on Saturday. The White Pine Trail runs straight through the middle of all of it, so arriving by bike is a genuinely good idea and the lots north of downtown are the ones people forget about.
A note on names. You will see it written as Harvest Fest, Harvest Festival, and occasionally as the Rockford fall festival. They are all the same weekend. What it is not is a county fair, and there is no separate Rockford fair in Michigan.
Daily start and end times for 2026 had not been published when this page was written. The Chamber posts them in the weeks beforehand.
